Baking soda is something I personally just put in my fridge, occasionally in cookies and other baked goods, and otherwise use as needed. But it has been used in laundry and dishwasher detergents, and quite frankly, it can be used for your hair, for your hands, and for your acne prone skin. It has benefits there too, and it’s hardly a harsh chemical that you would have to worry about. All you have to do is basically mix it in with soap and water if you want to, or you can make a paste of it with water at bedtime and apply it before you go to sleep, letting it dry, and washing it off in the morning. For blackheads, you mix equal parts baking soda and water, rub it gently for 2 to 3 minutes, and then rinse it with warm water. This will loosen your blackheads to be ready to come out at a more efficient rate. These will all help you to achieve greater acne fighting benefits, and of course you can always mix it with other acne fighters like honey or tea tree oil. It’s not a bad addition or standalone depending on your wants and needs of course.
