Now sometimes antidepressants can actually cause you to gain weight. But generally speaking, in general terms, if you take an antidepressant, it would level out your weight. I mean this not because the antidepressant itself has some magical effect. But I mean this because if it works for you, you are more likely to regulate your own diet habits. Some of us during times of stress and moreover times of ultimate stress like depression tend to stop eating, that’s me, when stressed I stop eating for the most part. But some of us tend to overeat and basically it’s like an addiction, we eat in order to drown out whatever problems or stress we may have. Not that you don’t have good reason, actually for the most part people do. However, if you stop eating obviously you will gain the weight back. But if you tend to overeat, and you usually eat fatty foods when you do this if you haven’t noticed, you will naturally start dropping those pounds. In addition, you will naturally reduce the extra oil you are taking in and causing acne with, and obviously the stress causes acne. So frankly, if it’s just stress, no big deal. But if you actually need medical help or otherwise suffer from serious depression, get the help you need. I know the social stigma that comes with it among other things. But it’s better than faking it. You may be really good at it, and I don’t doubt you are in most cases. But it’s worth it.
